ROYLE TO OPEN FACILITIES FIT FOR A KING
Ipswich manager Joe Royle will be opening the latest Football Foundation funded grass roots initiative in Suffolk as he joins players of Kirton Kestrels F.C. and members of the Kirton & Falkenham Recreation Ground Committee for the launch of their superb new sports pavilion

The ceremony will take place on Monday 5 April at 6.30pm at the Kirton and Falkenham Recreation Ground, Back Road, Kirton, IP10 0PW.

A £146,570 Football Foundation grant has contributed to the provision of a modern pavilion for the Suffolk club, incorporating four changing rooms, two referees changing areas and a social area. In keeping with Foundation policy, all facilities are fully accessible for disabled players and fans.

The club’s previous changing block consisted of a dilapidated timber building with a leaking roof. With their modern complex the committee will boost footballing opportunities for footballers of all ages and abilities. The ground will host regular mini soccer five a side competitions and coaching sessions, boosting participation rates, particularly amongst local girls.

The Foundation is dedicated to revitalising the grass roots of the game, constructing modern football facilities, developing football as a force for social cohesion and as a vehicle for education in communities throughout the country. Funded by the Premier League, the Football Association and the Government, the Football Foundation is the nation's largest sports charity having already funded projects worth almost £200m.
